Are you a seasoned tax planning professional? Do you understand how to work with HNWIs and develop opportunities through analysis and planning of charitable contributions, retirement, private foundation pay-out, stock options, IRA conversion, etc? Will you enjoy working in a team and overseeing up to 8 junior accountants working on client accounts?
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Senior Accountant (HNWI Planning and Tax Returns) for a top New York City wealth management firm, working to prepare tax returns and assist in the planning of high net worth individual clientele. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong knowledge of tax preparation, previous experience working with HNWIs, confidence with the ability to propose opportunities, and follow compliance and internal accounting/tax guidelines as well as be a self-starter, efficient and strong team player.
Senior Accountant (HNWI Planning and Tax Returns) Responsibilities:
Work directly with HNWI individuals on planning and filing all tax returns
Prepare all tax return projections, forms and vouchers
Oversee team working on filing of all tax documents to ensure compliance and timeliness
Assist in development of other statements for historical and future analysis including: balance sheets, income statements, net worth, cash flows, and estate plans
Lead short term accounting projects including retirement planning, minimum distribution planning, IRA conversions, charitable contributions, stock option analysts, loan amortizations, etc
Research accounting and planning opportunities
Senior Accountant (HNWI Planning and Tax Returns) Requirements:
4+ Years Experience working with individual and/or corporate tax returns and planning
Bachelors degree in Accounting with CPA achieved or in progress
Superb communication skills with confidence to propose and explain accounting plans to HNWI, colleagues and managers
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel, Outlook and Word (Ability to use V Lookup, Pivot Tables)
Previous experience using tax software programs, BNA Tax Planner preferred
Ability to work in a team, lead activities and motivate colleagues
Must be detail oriented, organized and able to work on multiple projects and priorities
This Senior Accountant (HNWI Planning and Tax Returns) role is a project-based consulting opportunity that is expected to last at least 3 months with possibility of direct-hire and pays an annualized salary of $93,600 ($45 per hour).
