Susan Laughter
Susan Laughter founded Wall Street Services in 1983 after observing that many staffing services paid insufficient attention to service and quality to adequately support the financial community. Her concept was to be a niche participant in an already over-crowded industry and to develop a reputation for excellence in supporting high profile investment banks and law firms.
Having worked for an institutional investment firm in Wall Street, Ms. Laughter understood the qualifications necessary to be exceptional. This led to the development of innovative tools for screening that would allow the firm to establish a consistent standard of excellence. Seeing the importance of round-the-clock staffing capability, the firm became one of the first to provide 24/7 services. Another development that responded directly to client needs was the opening of the Skills Acceleration Institute in 1987. By offering training to both clients and its own employees, Wall Street Services was able to fulfill its commitment to enhancing productivity in the work place.
In addition to her work in the financial services sector, Ms. Laughter has worked in publishing and public relations. She also spent two years working in East Harlem counseling adolescents on career related issues.
Ms. Laughter is a graduate of Hunter College and has a Master's degree from New York University. She is an avid reader and is fascinated by politics.
